Using My CalFresh Card:

Households CAN use CalFresh benefits to buy: 

Foods for the household to eat, such as bread, cereals, fruit, vegetables meat, fish and poultry, dairy products, seeds, and plants which produce food for the household to eat.

Households CANNOT use CalFresh benefits to buy: 

Non-food items, such as pet foods, soaps, paper products; household supplies, vitamins, medicines, food that will be eaten in the store, hot foods, beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, and tobacco. 

 

Stolen CalFresh/EBT Benefits

  • Stolen benefits must be reported to the County within 10 days. Recipients must complete a claim report within 90 days.
  • To report stolen benefits or a lost EBT card:
    • Contact your County Social Services Department to place a hold on your EBT card. This will prevent further unauthorized transactions on your card. Call customer service at (877) 328-9677.
  • To protect yourself from EBT fraud:
    • The country will never text or call you about personal information. Do not give your EBT card number or personal identification number through call or text.
    • Check your EBT balance frequently or daily, for any fraudulent charges.
    • If you have given personal information over the phone, lost your card, or suspect fraud, call customer service phone number (877-328-9677) as soon as possible.
