Private non-profit organization that grew out of community collaboration to feed the hungry in Merced County. Learn more.
Daylight Foods
Daylight Foods sources and delivers fresh food from farms to grocers and & restaurants. Daylight Foods will be joining UC Merced on the mission of preventing food waste by redirecting “ugly produce” to the Bobcat Pantry on campus. The collaboration will provide an opportunity to educate and engage our students to various topics regarding our food chain such as food justice, nutritional education, food safety, and food waste awareness.

Blum Center
By supporting research and other initiatives, the Blum Center at UC Merced is focused on promoting access to healthy food on campus as well as in vulnerable populations across the region. This is achieved through targeted seed grant funding to support faculty research and partnerships with existing campus initiatives in the areas of food insecurity and sustainable development. Merced County Community Action Agency
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federal assistance program that provides nutrition education, supplemental foods, breastfeeding support, and referrals to health care. The Merced County Community Action Agency (MCCAA) has numerous WIC sites located throughout Merced and Mariposa counties. It serves low to moderate income families with pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum women, and infants/children up to the age of 5. WIC helps families stay healthy through one-on-one support, group classes, allowing families to buy foods high in important nutrients, and more!
